Honestly, sometimes we have to enjoy the simple romance narrative and the We Live in Time checkbook cheese elements together pretty well
John Crowley creates a simple and predictable romantic story that isn’t really anything special, yet captures a beautiful performance with two strong performances from Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh throughout.
With good music, simple dialogue and structure, it still maintains an emotional connection with its viewers as the chemistry and banter between the two leads is visible and good
Obviously due to its predictable style, it feels a little long in its pace and some elements may fall asleep, but overall Crowley’s direction and Garfield and Pugh’s performances kept it going.
